I’ve never been one to conform to arbitrary expectations; they stifle creativity and limit potential. I hated pink as a child but took ballet lessons for twelve years. Growing up, most of my friends were boys, but I went to a women’s college. I was in a funk band in college, but I wasn’t the singer, I was the bass player. And now, after teaching middle and high school for the last seven years, I’m working to become a full stack developer. As an outsider to the field, I look forward to sharing my experiences and encouraging others to break out of their own boxes.
